Code of Honor
Our law, our code, our creed. These are the set of rules and guidelines that keep the server as amazing, respectful and wholesome as it is, for server veterans and newcomers alike.
The Server Rules
1. Just be nice.
2. Don’t be a dodo… (or a commie)
3. Use the appropriate designated channels. Bot commands are only to be used in the 🤖|bot-command channel. If unsure about where to post please ask staff.
4. Don’t SPAM.
5. Political, racial, or controversial discussions are allowed if you can keep your cool. Your opinions are welcome but do not try and force it on other members. Be cool, be calm, and don’t be rude to the person on the opposite side of the discussion or anyone for that matter.
6. No nudity is allowed on this server. We allow light NSFW. All gore and light sexual content must be marked as a “spoiler” and it must be stated as NSFW. Keep in mind the younger members. An 18+ channel is available for such things, by request.
7. Do not create drama in this public space, use DMs. If need be contact server staff.
8. Commenting in the media channels is fine but as soon as it turns into a conversation it must go into a thread or into 💬|unspecific . Violation of this might get you muted. This is to keep the media channels clean.
9. The VC’s are based on a first come first serve basis for chilling or gaming, so please respect the current activity or conversation happening here when you join. The Gaming specific VC is for if players that are playing a communicative game that requires focus and no disturbance. Let us please respect these spaces.
The server owner reserves the right to update and change these rules when necessary, and to act upon any rule breaking in the server.
Debating Rules
1. Respectful Discourse: Engage in debates with respect and civility, even when discussing opposing viewpoints.
2. Active Listening: Pay attention to what others are saying and avoid interrupting. Wait for your turn to speak.
3. Constructive Arguments: Present well-reasoned and supported arguments to contribute meaningfully to the discussion.
4. Avoid Personal Attacks: Focus on the ideas and arguments rather than attacking individuals or their character.
5. Fact-Based Arguments: Support your points with credible sources and evidence whenever possible.
6. Stay on Topic: Keep the debate focused on the designated topic or question.
7. Time Management: Be mindful of time limits for each speaker to ensure equal opportunities for participation.
8. No Hate Speech: Refrain from using hate speech, offensive language, or discriminatory remarks during debates.
9. Open-Mindedness: Be open to considering different perspectives and be willing to change your opinion based on new information.
10. Moderator’s Decision: Follow the moderator’s instructions and decisions regarding debate structure and order.
11. No Trolling: Do not engage in trolling or deliberately provoking others to incite conflict.
12. Respectful Disagreement: It’s okay to disagree, but do so respectfully and avoid escalating conflicts.
13. Adherence to Format: Stick to the agreed-upon format for the debate, such as speaking order and time limits.
14. No Disruptive Behavior: Avoid any behavior that disrupts the flow of the debate or hinders other participants.
15. Q&A Etiquette: During Q&A sessions, wait for your turn to ask questions or respond to questions posed by others.
16. Follow Debate Etiquette: Follow established debating etiquette, such as raising hands to speak or using specific debate markers.
17. No Plagiarism: Present original arguments and ideas, giving credit to the source if quoting or referencing someone else’s work.
18. Mutual Consent: Participants should enter debates willingly and avoid pressuring others into participating.
19. Feedback and Improvement: Embrace feedback on your debating skills and seek to improve for future debates.
20. Enjoy Learning: Embrace the opportunity to learn and grow intellectually through engaging debates at Terravaal.
By following these rules, debates in Terravaal become enlightening and enriching experiences, fostering a community that values intellectual discourse and respectful engagement.
Gaming Rules
1. Respect and Courtesy: Treat all players with respect and kindness. Avoid any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive language during gaming sessions.
2. Fair Play: Play games honestly and fairly, adhering to the established rules of each game.
3. No Cheating: Cheating, hacking, or exploiting game mechanics is strictly prohibited.
4. Teamwork: Encourage teamwork and collaboration among players, fostering a positive and enjoyable gaming experience.
5. Sportsmanship: Display good sportsmanship, whether winning or losing. Avoid gloating or being excessively critical.
6. No Toxic Behavior: Refrain from engaging in toxic behavior, such as excessive trash-talking or intentionally provoking others.
7. Use of Voice Chat: If using voice chat during multiplayer games, maintain a respectful and friendly tone.
8. Respect Game Host: Follow the instructions of the game host or moderator to ensure a smooth gaming session.
9. No Spamming: Avoid spamming messages or game actions that disrupt the flow of the game.
10. Appropriate Nicknames: Use appropriate and respectful nicknames that do not offend or harm others.
11. Age-Appropriate Content: Refrain from sharing or discussing content that may be inappropriate for certain age groups.
12. No Advertising: Avoid promoting or advertising unrelated content or services during gaming sessions.
13. Report Misconduct: Report any instances of rule violations, harassment, or inappropriate behavior to the moderators promptly.
14. Stay Informed: Familiarize yourself with the specific rules and guidelines for each game before participating.

Failure to abide by these rules may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from gaming sessions.
